Top tips: using Facebook to create communities

Over the summer the TEL team are running a series of skills development sessions. Last week Laura delivered a fantastic session that explored how social bookmarking tools can be used to collect and organise on-line resources. This week I’m looking at how we can use Facebook to create on-line communities for their staff and students.

Since discovering Piktochart  I have become a little bit obsessed with infographics as I prefer information to be presented visually rather than as chunks of text. So for my handout I have created an infographic to explain what on-line communities are, how Facebook pages and groups can be used to create these as well as a few ideas for using Facebook pages and groups with students.
